i will dance in fields.

For the past few days I have been experiencing what one would call a Mental Haze. I went through something similar while volunteering at Christian camp this summer, a spiritual opposition stronger than I had known. When you set out to do things for the Kingdom, there will be retaliation from the devil. I remember one week I had such hardcore doubts that I wondered if God was even real. (Spoiler alert: He is.)

Now that I'm at Bible college, the opposition hasn't been quite as bad, but recently I have been finding it hard to connect. The joy from my relationship with Christ had been zapped. I was sitting in class today, trying to concentrate, but instead I found myself tangled up in feelings of inexplicable burden.

Then, BAM.
This verse.

"He is wooing you from the jaws of distress to a spacious place free from restriction, to the comfort of your table laden with choice food." ~ Job 36:16

I prayed, and someone else must have prayed for me, too, for then I felt like I had been given something to stand on again. The truth! It sounds so cheesy, but when God does things in my life like that, I gotta share 'em. Might even make that the umpteenth feature on this bloggeth: God Moments.

Other Such Glorious Pursuits of Today included receiving a Divine Parcel in the postage, learning the rule of thirds, inhaling a splendid pumpkin chocolate chip cookie (they exist), Unofficial Music Sharing Day, and writing this highly indulgent sentence.

Welcome to October.

Waffles or Die

Radical Waffle House photography found on the Interwebs.
I don't know what it is about Waffle House. It's not that their waffles are particularly good, or that their service is extra remarkable. In fact, Waffle Houses, as a general rule, are like the less cleanly and slightly sketchier cousin of Denny's. But for some reason, I get these random urges to grab chocolate chip waffles at one of their cheery canary yellow restaurants nearly every time I drive by one. Especially at night.

Maybe it's my inner diner enthusiast?
The world may never know.

"Waffles are just awesome bread."

Musical Men Mondays: Tyler Joseph

It has come to my attention that I have not written a Musical Men Mondays post in quite a long time, and frankly, my good people, that is a crime. So in keeping with the glorious tradition of Simultaneously Celebrating great tunes and the beautiful men that make them, I present to you Tyler Joseph of Twenty One Pilots.

He's a twitchy sort of lad.

Reasons Why Tyler Joseph is a Stellar Being in this Universe:

-- Music: I shall begin with the abudnantly obvious reason, and that is his wonderful music. My sister introduced me to his intense (but groovin') screamy, schizophrenic songs maybe a year or so ago, and at first I was not about it. But now I am, and they are the perfect jams for both upbeat and moody moments.
-- Tattoos: Left arm, black bands. I DIG IT
-- Black Hoodie: I refer now to the most compelling case of my evidence for Tyler Joseph's wonderfulness, and that my friends, is his affinity for the perfectly worn and plush black hoodie. And just black clothing in general. Which is a divine color upon a man.
--Dat Moniker: As if all of this wasn't enough, the man has two first names. two~
