i don't fancy april

I feel like I'm literally brushing away cobwebs from my neglected little webpage.
It's not that I meant to abandon Acoustic Erin, but as I'm sure my
fellow college students can attest, April is crazy.

Be right back, just slowly losing morale and my passion for learning.

But seriously, April is tough as nails. Everything under the sun seems to be due. I'm talking, papers. Individual projects. Group projects. Essays, articles, surveys, and the like. And then, looming on the horizon like an ominous black exams.

Luckily, the Lord has shown me mercy, and I have had enough time to get everything done. I also haven't started my training for work yet, so life could always be crazier! So currently, Christ is teaching me about thanksgiving.
"To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen."
~Philippians 4:20

The Verse of the Day website posted this about today's verse:

"When was the last time that you prayed and didn't request things from God and simply thanked and praised Him? Why not use today as a day of thanks and praise? Don't ask for anything; just praise and thank the Father!"

I thought that was the coolest idea!

Parks; raspberries; early mornings;
Family; church; the fact that books exist & I can read them;
Sunrises & sunsets; the feeling of typing really fast; blueberry pie.

Wrong, Jude. WRONG

+ What are you thankful for today?
P.S. I still need to catch up with reading y'all's blogs.
When the semester ends, I'm going to sit down and have a radical blog-reading session!

  1. Thank you for posting this! I need to pray just to talk with God simply because I love being with Him, not because I always want something. :)
    I am thankful that He has so much mercy and grace for us.

    1. Not a problem! I'm glad the Lord was able to use it to inspire you. :) Thankfulness is such a great mindset to have. I was more conscious today of how I talk to Him, and found it hard not to default to asking Him for things. I wonder how often I complain to Him? Probably too often! But like you said, He is full of mercy. What a great God! :)

  2. Replies
    1. Yes! :) <3 The little pug kinds that can't breathe are probably my favorite.

  3. April = Insanity. And I'm not even in college yet.

    Today, I'm thankful for sunshine, friends, and, of course, chocolate;)

    1. It's like someone put life in a blender, I swear. I love your list! Makes me want to go eat some yummy dark chocolate outside in the sun with my friends!

  4. Hahaha, this post! I just need to say that I identify. My life isn't crazy at the moment, but most of the time it is no matter what month it is (!!) so I relate. ;) Looking forward to having you around more often soon! Good luck in your exams!

    1. Yeah, life can get pretty hectic sometimes! Thanks, girl! :) I appreciate it!!

  5. April has gotten insane too. It took a bad turn near the end of the month, but I'm putting myself back together. I also start a new job soon! Congrats!

    1. Congrats on the new job to you, too! Don't forget to get some rest :)

  6. ERINNNNNN I MISSED YOU, GIRL! *crash hugs* Ugh, I know what you mean tho. *weeps with you and eats all the blueberry pie* Life can be really crazy, but hang in there! Also I love that quote and that thought about thanking God and not asking for anything -- after all, He's closer than our next breath. <3

    "the feeling of typing really fast..." < I LOVE THIS TOOOOO. Sometimes I impress myself when I type really fast (and, er, completely ignore all the typos...XD)

    1. I'm so glad you're back! I missed you, too! :) Thanks for the encouragement. I thought it was so cool, too. I've been trying to be more thankful because God does so much for us all. It's incredible when you really think about it!

Go with grace.
