and all the mountains, I count them my friends

It's been a long time since I last hiked. For a while I was not sure that I missed it, because sometimes memories of hiking can be difficult: trekking up steep inclines with sore feet; getting caught twice in an unexpected afternoon hailstorm. But there are tender memories, too, like the gentle, fading light of this blissful sunset on the side of a mountain. And it's time to embrace that view once more.

If you're reading this, then I am currently hiding in the woods somewhere. {Weird to think as I type this from the comfort of my air-conditioned room.} I'm heading out for another trip on the Appalachian Trail, and I'm filled with both nerves and elation. I'm asking God to make this trip an absolute adventure.

+ I hope you've all been well, and enjoying your summers.
Wherever you are, be all there.

    1. Isn't the woods the best? I am so glad God decided to create trees. I don't know where I'd be without them, some days. :) Thank you!

    1. Thank you so much! I definitely feel the love/hate, especially this trip. There were a lot of climbs where I asked myself why in the world I was in the woods and not sitting at home with a candle and piece of dark chocolate, my word! hehe

Also, I just noticed your 'In Case of Emergency' list on the sidebar - it's so true, and what an excellent idea. I like it. :)

    1. Thank you so much! I will have to post more about them when I get the chance. They definitely involved a lot of sweat, that is for sure!

And thank you so much! I wanted to add some little features to my sidebar, and I thought I saw something like that on another blog. :)
