How to Just Flat Out Love Your Life

Hello, my people!

I gotta admit: I've been in sort of a negative slump lately. And let me tell ya, there's nothing like being in a bad mood to zap your creativity, thankfulness and energy. BUT OH NO MY PEOPLE, NOT TODAY. Because we are right around the corner from Thanksgiving (how?!) and the blogging community is buzzing with thanks and our lives are too rich to waste.

For so long I've been comparing my talents, my style, my body, and EVERYTHING ELSE to other people. And it's been getting me down.
But you know what helps me just love life? Being grateful.

Life is not picture perfect or exciting all of the time, and neither am I, but it's always beautiful. Honestly, a huge shout out to the Lord for keeping me sane even when I refuse to give thanks. Without Him, I've got nothing.

Flat Out Loving Life Right Now Because:

Every morning I wake up and I can see and breathe and run. I am healthy and alive.

I bought this absolutely ridiculous candle that smells just like hot chocolate and it's giving me serious Christmas vibes. Please go smell it in real life and tell me you love it just as much as I do. Yes, I am devoting a whole point on my list to a candle. THIS IS A BIG DEAL FOR ME OK

I love my job! It's wonderful to get to write articles and design marketing campaigns on the daily. I am so thankful to do something creative each day at work, and I love my co-workers.

My family. Always, always grateful for these goobers.

What about you?

You didn't think I was going to leave you guys off the list, did you? NO SIR. I am grateful for every single person who reads and comments and stumbles upon this blog. Y'all brighten my day all the time!! What do you love about your life? Has anyone started listening to Christmas music yet? Just me?

  2. I was just taking a break from writing a blog post on thankfulness (for Thanksgiving. What a notion) to read this. XD Perfect timing. Glad to hear that you're focusing on loving everything (and that candle sounds LIKE HEAVEN. I think I need to buy it ASAP).

    1. I've been super moody too, lately. Sometimes negative thought patterns can be hard to break but reading Colossians passages about thankfulness can help. I need to do more of that!

Happy early Thanksgiving to you too, Anna! :) Thank you so much!! You are so sweet. And yes, I use the TI filter on the VSCO app. I love VSCO because it has a lot of vintage/indie kind of filters. :D

    1. Aw thank you so much! :) You are the bomb, too! It's not always easy to love life but I am definitely trying to give thanks more and appreciate the little moments.

GAH no! I'm sorry. :( Have you tried a candle warmer? That's what I had to use when I was dorming a few years ago. It's like this hot plate or something that warms the candle without actually having to light it, and somehow it works so you can still smell the candle? MAGIC I SAY

Thanks so much for all your kind words, Faith! Hope you're having a great November!! :)

p.s. I love your pictures - they're super gorgeous. all. the. time. <3

  11. I so needed this reminder! We are truly nothing without Christ and it's so easy to be upset and ungrateful about things...and sometimes for justified reasons. But He is so good and faithful to give us so many blessings that we don't deserve. It's so awesome that you've been able to beat the negative slump and it is amazing how much better life is when we focus on what truly matters in life. The holidays are always a huge reminder to me of how grateful I am for my family...seriously, they are the best!

    1. You bring up a great point - even if we feel justified about our frustration, we can and should still look to give thanks. It's so hard! I mean, sometimes I don't WANT to give thanks. But it puts things in perspective every time. I totally agree about being thankful for family - I have been blessed with an awesome family, too, and love them dearly. I hope you have a fantastic Thanksgiving, Lauren! :) Thanks for commenting. <3
