2014

I am so glad that God doesn't let us have everything we want.

I'm really being taught to rely on Him. God is my hope, is my security. I never thought of myself as someone with trust issues before, but I do like to be in control of a lot of my life. I like to have a say in what I do, when I do it. It's only when God changes up my plans that I see His are so much better.

This season has seen me watching friends celebrate happy times. A lot of people I know have gotten engaged, married. It can be hard to watch this happen and not be jealous. I want to be the kind of woman that celebrates with, not envies, others. This verse came to mind this morning:

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. - Galatians 6:9

I hope your 2014 is filled with the crisp pages of a favorite book, the sweet scent of a burning candle, an impossibly soft quilt and the smiles of good friends. It's been a long year, but somehow, we've made it.

Trust that God will get you through in the new year, no matter what season you're in. My current one being a season full of Andrew Garfield movies, novel writing, and Converse shoes.
